Traffic Generation – Part Deux.a.Update – What is Video Marketing!

by nigelyip on December 27, 2008

Hey Everyone,

Firstly I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was totally mad, hectic, awful, good, bad, awesome, you name it, it happened. So what happened?

Well, on Christmas Day, I tried installing some new games on my bro’s PC- but unfortunately he did not install a particular update which results in SP1 being not installed and kept throwing up lots ‘n’ lots of ERROR message. And so I spent the early hours of the morning trying to fix the problem.

Next, by midday- it was time to to go to my dad’d friend house in Northampton which is about 100 miles where I live. My dad’s friend

Hi Nigel,

Hey, what fanatastic productivity so far. I’ve just read your “About” page, and it’s certainly about time for you to be up there with the lights, camera and action in your own right. You have produced the ebook that points us in the right direction, and I thank you for this. We all know video is the way to go, but many of us are scared to come out of our comfort zones. You are helping us tremendously with this. Will review it later, but well done for producing it.

I predict it will only be a matter of time before “they” (whoever “they” are) come after you, and you will be up there telling your story to hundreds, and thousands.

I can predict this with a fair degree of certainty because I have seen your name on various other blogs, and you were one of the very early ones to take action. and your traffic stats so far show this. This is my first time of visiting you. I should have come earlier, but one works through the today’s “To Do” list to achieve what we can.

I’d love you to come over to say hi on my blog and tell me what you think.

Hi Nigel,

Well, I’ve downloaded your two ebooks, and WOW. I had to come back and give you my feedback immediately. I have no excuse not to get out of my comfort zone and get my videos up and out now. Brilliant information, clearly presented. What else do we need? Just the action to go and do, and we’ve got to do that for ourselves. You’ve done your part by demystifying the whole video thing.

I was a little confused by the Preview and Main editions. Suggest you rename them. Perhaps along the lines of “The Power of Video” instead of Preview as you show your stats, and from where I am coming from at the moment, they alone are to die for. Suggest “How to make and upload videos” for the Main edition. Personally, I would prefer to have them both in one ebook, as the Preview edition is only 7 pages, and to have them in one place would be easier. This may just be my personal preference. Perhaps you would like to conduct a poll to see what others think? Perhaps you have good reasons for presenting them as two separate ebooks?

Another thought. I’m sure your readers would be interested in updates. Perhaps you could make it clear that people will get updates as and when you do them (if that is what you are going to do). This will give you an opportunity to show how your stats are reaching the stratosphere, in time, plus anything else you would wish to add. This will help keep your ebook up to date when people pass it on virally, helping to give them great valuable information and to spread your name.

Hope this helps as much as you have helped me already.

Hi Nigel!

Your website rocks. I knew it would because I too have seen your name on several of the student’s blogs. I have not been disappointed in my expectation. :-)

I have been wanting to make a video so I am going to download your e-books for sure! I made just a quick one with the Windows Movie Maker but I wasn’t in it at all. I want to start branding my face! Thanks for making the e-books… I am going to put them to good use. :-)

Have a great New Years, and see you in the webinars!

Hey Valerie

Firstly welcome to my blog, I hope you had a wonderful time here and that you had a wonderful christmas too. Next, thank you for your wonderful comments and I hope you will enjoy the ebook as much as I have in creating them.

Hey Valerie,

WOW, you certainly read the ebook very quickly, and thank you for such prompt response with feedback.

In regards to your question, I originally intended the preview copy to be given away free and then charge $9 for the main edition, however when I came to uploading them to the site ready for you all to download, something crossed my mine and I decided to give both copies away for free. I really do not know or recall what crossed my mind to make such decision, but hey ho, I’ve got a few more ebooks in store, all planned out and ready to be written now. Just got to find time to get them done as I’ve also got to run my other ebay business and biz ops magazine.

Now, as for the titles, it is certainly a valuble point and I will give it a consider, and as for future updates, it’s certainly something I hadn’t considered as I made the ebooks about 3 weeks ago now and at that time, everything was frenzy, maybe I should take some time off and give these ideas you suggest a good long thought.

Anyway I really do appreciate your wonderful feedback and tips on how i could possible improve the ebooks.
All the best
Nigel

since this was my first free giveaway ebook, I might as well give both copies out

Hello Beth,

Thanks for dropping by my blog, I’m glad that I didn’t dissapoint your expectation, I was worried last week and was thinking about changing my blog theme but I thought I would stick to it for another few weeks. Guess your comment just help me reassure this decision.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you again and seeing you at the webinar too.
All the best to you too and have a wonderful New Year as well!!!

Hey Nigel,

Well I did it, finally dragged myself back to the PC after my extended break, lol.

Thanks for your email and I will sure I will speak to you about more later. I have put a post up about the blogroll debate and would love to hear your views so pop over when you get a chance:)

Good point about the videos. It’s not easy to come up with a unique topic but you can make your video unique. That is what branding is all about!

All the best

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I haven’t tried making my own video for many of the reasons you stated. Well, that has to change! Thanks for the encouragement.

BTW, I tried to respond as a string on my own blog. I’ve been answering everyone on their own blog and realize that’s not the proper way … but I can’t find where to respond on my own blog. Could you please direct me?

Thanks,
Debbie

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for such a quick response. I tried what you said, but I don’t get the option to reply for some reason when I look at the comments in my admin panel. Only approve, delete, mark as spam. So, I went to my last post and replied there.

Thanks again,
Debbie

Hey Debbie

You just got caught me in the nick of time lol as I only just came online about 10 mins after your comment.

I’m guessing that your using WordPress version 2.6.5 or below hence you may not get the the other options which I stated. I’ve recently upgraded to version 2.7 so maybe why it’s slight different.

All the best and your welcome – glad to have been able to help you out!

Angela

15 Nigel Yip 12.29.08 at 4:59 pm

Hey Chelsea,

Yeah Christmas was pretty cool lol and yep I’m not sure about Vegas either – really will have to see what happens and like you said, I too am not sure whether how many people will attend due to price, time, family commitments etc…. oh and not to forget the flight tickets, hotels, renting a car etc… however I think, Alex, in on the brainstorming sessions mentioning that the event might be held sometime during March, but it’s still very uncertain.

I hope you have a wonderful time in Vegas in May and yeah I’ve got some ideas planned for videos, just haven’t got round to doing them yet as I’m busy writing my next ebook and learning this new video making method as well as running my ebay biz and home biz ops magazine lol…

You can check out some of my videos that I have done for both myself and Garry Parkes on the Videos & Multimedia page.

All the best and you too have a wonderful New Year!!! Speak Soon!!

Hi Nigel

Wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year.

I hope your 2009 Internet business will give you everything you have ever dreamed of.

One Big Word Of Caution!

And PLEASE DONT JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR THIS. I will try to back it up with some facts.

Unfortunately we are in a global financial situation none of us have ever seen before. You need to consider very carefully which currency you trade in. Then consider very carefully in which countries you bank and keep your money in. At the Moment experts are predicting the British pound and the American dollar both currencies are going to collapse within 2 years your

Hello Nigel

I just sent a copy of your ebook to my husband as he will be working on the videos for me. We have a copy of camtasia on his laptop but it keeps locking up. His computer is getting old and temperamental :-( I need to start making some money so I can get him a new one. :-)

Your site is very informative and has great value — keep up the good work!!

Thank You for the ebook — I really appreciate it!

Robin :-)

19 Nigel Yip 12.30.08 at 8:31 pm

Hey Robin

I haven’t used camtasia before but I know many have said it is a wonderful program, and I totally understand about computers getting old, the one I’m currently using is 4 years old and I’ve been recently getting the blue screen of death quote often.

Anyway I hope my video eBook will help and thanks for visiting.

I hope you and famaily all have a wonderful, happy and prosperous New Year
All the best for 2009!!!

Hi Nigel,
I left a messgae yesterday then got an error message. It’s not here so I don’t know whether you dont have it or you just don’t show messages until after the first one has been received. Let me know, I can send it again.

24 Katyh Ibbetson 01.02.09 at 8:17 am

OK so that one showed up so here’s my origianal
Thanks for visiting my blog
Thanks for the ebooks I will read them TODAY and I think you’re right to give them away because if you look at Harvey Segal he swears by giving away high quality ebooks as he says they go viral and then he can sell other stuff.
http://www.supertips.com/
I liked you CAD stuff too – cool.
Where do you live are you in England
Is English your first language coz if it’s not you must have the chance to spread the message further.
Do you have anybody other than AJ students in your list ? I still have the sum total of zero and I’m wondering when it will start !

25 Nigel Yip 01.02.09 at 8:56 am

Hey Kath

Thanks for your wonderful comments – not quite sure what happened to the first message? I recently unticked the author must approve comments first feature as I thought it might be annoying. So not sure and I will definately take a look at Harvey Segal, once I reorganaise my time a little and clear my home office up – it’s a right mess here after printing a 1000 copy run of a biz ops magazine for my client.

I’m based in Staffordshire, where are you based? As for English, it’s not my native langauge or as one would call it my mother tongue, but out of the language I know, English is definately the one I use most often and love writing with.

As for spreading the word, I haven’t considered it before, maybe I should think about it at a later date, and as for anybody apart from AJ students on my list, well my count is… lemme just check my aweber account.. brb in a sec…

nope, just like you , all AJ Students on my Camera Book list and 1 random subscriber from the profit pulling platform

I guess patience is virtue and the time will come once we start exploiting other forms of marketing.

Anyway all the best for 2009!!!

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for coming to my blog and posting a great comment, I replied to it on my blog, but I wonder if I might pick your brain ?

The video in question was made on proshow producer. On the computer the quality was superb, no pixilation or any other problems, but after loading it to Viddler the thing degraded very badly.

I tried to output it in various formats including flash, avi, mpg etc but it didn

28 Nigel Yip 01.02.09 at 7:48 pm

Hey Paull,

Thanks for dropping by, now I’m not sure about Camtasia and I still haven’t got round to find out what it is or how it works etc.., but it sounds to me like a lot of hassle.

I would suggest encoding your videos in MP4 as it’s sorta the new type, or try and see if you have a preference/setting menu where you can adjust your output settings.

Best Regards
Nigel
