Hey everyone,
As you will all know that yesterday late last night, I decided to start twittering and I employed Alex’s tip on on how to get people to follow you by following them first.
Well, I can’t really say that twitter has instantly helped me gained instant traffic but what I can say though that within 10 minutes of twittering, I decided to mention my blog to people and also putting my blog url on hte auto-reply messages.
An hour later, I recieved an subcriber who followed me on twitter and downloaded my Lights…Camera..Action ebooks. I was certainly most surprised. Well below is my latest screenshot of my google anaytics for the blog.

Well it’s not a lot of increase in traffic but I guess it’s increased and only time will tell whether twitter can also help increase traffic to my blog.
In the mean time you may want to check out

Nigel,
That is great news matey! Well done!
I had a look at your videos and have to say they are improving every time.
For some one who just started doing them not so long ago that is a great achievement.
Allow me to throw an idea in the air and see if it sticks. Since you are pretty good with the graphic effects on your vids have you thought of perhaps adding some live animated footage on as well – a la max headroom style. Maybe you could do an animated character of yourself and add some entertainment value to it – hey remember what Alex said on the last module ‘funny money’.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts. And yes I will follow you on twitter matey once I get my head round it.
regards
Guy
Hi Nigel,
Thanks for the info, I’d been using twitter since before our course with Alex began so that’s one thing I didn’t have to add to my list. He’s right about getting people to follow you by following them first, that’s worked for me. I’ve also got my blog and twitter page linked together so that twitter annouces for me every time I post to my blog.
I’ve added you to my blog roll. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas,
Kevin

Hi Nigel
I like the idea of animated audio and I am thinking about doing that on my blog.
I am still deciding on my markting approach but will definitely be looking into avatars. My tech and I have been working on audio fo rmy site, however since I recently found out about the avatars I have decided to go with those instead of the straight audio of my voice with a picture.
Any suggestions regarding my marketing approach. I am in a quandry as to whether I should present myself as a serious Ghostwriter or whether I should stay within the theme of my blog and go with Cols and Her Fellow Students and use an avatar character that portrays a child’s voice.
Thing is the objective of my blog, same as yours, is to build lists. My thoughts are long term though considering I have my Corporate Webiste over at http://www.qualitywritingservices.com. I am concerned that I may dilute my marketing efforts. It’s a tricky one because I really didn’t know that Cols and her Fellow Students would take off so well and become so popular.!!
Let me know your thoughts. They are always appreciated Nigel.
See ya
Coleen
