Part 2 – Misdirection!!!

by nigelyip on January 24, 2009

Hey Everyone

How are you all – hope you are all well.

So part 2 of my Masterplan, well, you see I’ve been plotting planning away for the whole of last night and early hours in the morning as well as a few hours earlier on my latest masterplan aka referred modestly as the 2009 plan.

Now what is my masterplan for 2009??? Well let’s just say “Misdirection”

Or to quote from Swordfish and John Travolta’s Line

“What the eyes sees, the brain believes”

and it’s so true especially with the AJ Course I’ve been on.

You see, my eyes are seeing what Alex Jeffreys is telling me about how to set up an online business, and so my conscious mode of my brain believes this, however the obnoixus side of my unconscious brain mode is telling me this is all a facade.

Why? I joing the course to learn how to make money, to learn how to set up an successful online business, to learn how to intiate and run a succesful business, and CERTAINLY NOT to be also sold products to and get bombarded with Giveaways, offers, and ebooks which were prepared a decade ago which, not only is so outdate, that a new rewrite is on the cards and begging to be given a new lease of life.

Oh and did I mentioned that because of the pace this course has been going at, a lot of basework, skills and important steps have been missed out. I’m not going to point them out blaringly obvious but some topics include:

How to find a niche products
How to actually do follow up messages,
How to know what are the best products to promote,
How to spot out trends,
How to utilise blog to full extent in related to promoted product and finally,
How to contact established JV’s and to develop your buisness and yourself
How to get people on board with you and literally agree with everything you say, even if your wearing yellow trousers and you’re telling them it’s black.

Anyway, did you know that the squeeze page given is bad, bad, bad. I mean the top IM Gurus are using videos and putting a aweber form below it to promote their products.

Oh and before I forget, Did Alex ever mentioned anything about laws, business requirements to setting up our own online business for example, somebody disagrees or complains about the guide your selling or about your information – what do you do then?

Do you a) put a disclaimer in your ebook to tell the buyer /reader that all information contain should be read with due caution and that to seek professional advice if you are unsure about anything before venturing out or B) Just get out there, try and be careful, despite your branding yourself and putting your name out there. Plus your risking your own name and face if everything falls apart or goes pants up – just like self-employed entrepreneurs.

Yes, taking risk is thrilling and that is one of the reasons out or many I’m sure, why people venture out and become their own boss, the other is they just hate 9-5 day jobs and feel that it’s better to be in control of your own life or alternatively have health or family commitments and problems which are of operandi higher priority.

What I’m trying to say is this, don’t let your eyes misdirect you and making your brain believe that this is the one hit wonder, for some this might be the one for them especially if they are the selected one for the groomed to be success route, but as you will know, it’s part of manipulation.

But then again, are you going to be one of those who has been leashed by the mentor, put blinkers on, a bit gag and been lead on a nose hook into a bull ring with a red flag and a rampage of thundering bulls ready ot grab more money of you?

Or have you or will you be of those who either escaped or never entered and have hidden in the background and are watching the rest of those who have been led into the bull ring i.e. the audience around the bull ring and enjoy taking the ridcule mock out of those led into the in the bullring blindedly and utter after the fight has finished “Oh, well just another coaching course – back to daily life again!”

So before I digressed again, what was my masterplan, well let’s just say you’ll find out sooner or later and by that time, if you are one of those who are gladly and love to be led into the bull ring with blinkers, and a bit gag…. well Best of Luck, if not, then Good Luck to you as well

Best Regards

PS: Misdirection, it’s like a love hate relationship or is it?

Hi Nigel,

Just popped in to say thanks for the memberships ebook. Haven’t read it yet, but appreciate the gesture.

You are so right concerning things left out of the AJ course, but then I don’t think it was ever his intention to teach EVERY method of making money online. As you know, there are many ways to do this, and Alex has chosen just one way for the subject of his coaching course.

However, having said that, one little point has been niggling away at me for quite a while now. Alex issued us with the profit pulling platform to use as a list builder. Some have had a lot of success with this, others not so. In one of the early modules Alex admits that he didn’t build his list this way – he built his list generating traffic via joint ventures. So, in other words, this comes across as “Do as I say, not as I do”.

Just my “two penn’orth”.

BTW, could you correct my entry on your blogroll please. You have my name and website spelt slightly wrong. Thanks.

Hi Dave

I hope you will find the eBook interesting and maybe an idea you may wish to look into. Now as for the AJ Course, I totally understand that there is a limitation as to how or what Alex can teach us, but it does feel like piece of the jigsaw puzzle is missing. But then could that be the key to success? i.e. we’ve been shown hints of what the treasure chest contain but now it’s up to us to find a the the treasure map, locate where to dig for it and then also find the the key and unlock it? It does make me wonder… but then hey…

I will immediately ammend the changes for you – apologies about that and yeah speak to you soon Dave

Best Regards
Nigel

I think most of us joined Alex’s group to learn how to set up and run a successful – and sustainable – online business, just like you did. Alex promised that from the outset.

He also said he’d be, to a certain extent, drip-feeding us so that we wouldn’t have to cope with a massive amount of info all at once. One step at a time, etc.
Admittedly, it can be confusing trying to plot a course for the year ahead when we don’t yet know where we’re going, but I think we’ve got to have a little faith that all will be revealed at the right time.

Before Alex even started the course, he was railing against the way people were being manipulated into buying more and more products as they chased the IM dream, and describing how the path to success in this business has changed out of all recognition in the last few years.

Alex has shown himself to be a man of integrity rather than a hype merchant, and I for one don’t believe that he’s leashing, blinkering or conning anyone. He wants to help.

Furthermore, I don’t believe that he will allow the majority of the 500 to flounder and fail while a few select ones succeed. He promised one-to-one mentoring, and if anyone needs help I have confidence that they’ll get it. He genuinely wants us to succeed, both for our sakes and for his. After all, Alex is building his reputation on this coaching course. Everyone knows there are around 500 members, so it wouldn’t look good if only a couple of dozen of his students succeeded. He knows that, and I’m sure he won’t let us down.

Have faith, and KOTOBOT!

Best wishes,

James

Hello Nigel
Thanks for the ebook. I emailed you and appreciate your response.

I’m not sure how to respond to your post. I don’t quite understand it all.

I think Alex is showing us one of many ways to build a list. It’s not the way he did it but it seems to be the up-coming way and so, we are in front.

He’s also given us a clue about our first paid-for product (how we went from zero to ?) and I now have 499 people I can approach for a JV whereas before the course I didn’t have one. (But I already had a product to sell before the course began).

I recall he said we would all be successful. I think some of us will need to be able to have some on-to-one help to achieve this and I hope he’ will provide it.

I don’t think we are getting a drip drip tuition. It feels more like we are bombarded with new ideas which take some time to learn whilst we’re still implementing the first. Maybe I am making a mistake in trying to do everything he says as quickly as he says them.

But I’ve slowed down now. I’m ignoring the video competition altogether because I just can’t get round to learning Camtasia or Windows Movie Maker whilst I’m trying to do the other things he has described.

But one thing he has taught me: how to focus. I’ve not been able to do that for many, many years.
Best Wishes

Joe

Hi Joe,

Don’t worry about how to reply to the post, and it great to hear your views and feedback about what you think about the course, how the delivery rate is and also reasons why you joined the course as well as the faith you have.

It is a shame your not entering the Video Competetion, although I understand what you mean about slowing down, I’ve slowed down myself too by working a few days and then taking a few days of later.

But yeah, Focusing is great

Best Wishes to you as well
Nigel

Just thought i would comment and say neat theme, did you code it yourself? Looks great. If you wishto exchange the links with us please let me know.

Hi Tobie

Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comment. Unfortunately I didn’t code the original theme, although I wish I had that ability. The only things I did was adding the advertising sponsors banners ad, side widgets and of course the blog content.

Best wishes
