Module 5.5 – Traffic Tornados – Spinning it to win it!!!

by nigelyip on January 11, 2009

Hey Everyone

So how are you all and how was module 5 or was it module 6, I really don’t know let’s call it module 5.5. instead to keep things simple. Which brings me on to what Alex was telling us – K.I.S.S.

That’s not snogging btw, it’s about keeping things simple or as Alex put it

“Keep It Simple Stupid

Yes okay, I not saying that your stupid, I know I am, because I seem to forever complicating things when there’s always probably a simple solution outthere but then maybe I should adopt the creative graphics side of my brain into this as well as I love minimalist designs such as the Bauhaus, Le Corrbieser, Ludwig Mies Van De Rohe and also anything Swedish, yes that includes Ikea and Volvo but hey, thats another story for another day.

So apart keeping things simple, Alex was giving us a psychological philosophical lecture as well and that was about being

“HyperAware”

I like to think it as being the subconcious of the obnoxious shadow in the conscious state of mind, when the brain is functioning in defunct “Life” mode.

To explain that a bit further, it’s basically a state of mind where you are beyond awareness. It’s like doing something your unaware of but to others seem like you know what you are doing and no it isn’t related to day dreaming and doing things auto-pilot either.

It’s like today, when I was shopping around for a video webcam in PC World (still haven’t got one yet) and whilst I was looking at the display of various webcams, my mind suddenly clicked and told me – somebody is behind me, and I turned back, thinking in my conscious mind that I must be imaging things, but I wasn’t. There it was, a female assistant with a wireless network card was behind me looking at where to replace the object that was left lying around the store.

The thing that freaked me out that – she wasn’t making a noise, she didn’t have perfume nor was she heavy footed either, she stopped for a moment and that was when my brain just clicked – I mean how????

Nigel,

Great post once again. I love it.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the info and the E-book, “Lights, Camera, Action”. Using your book I actually put my first video up tonight. I am in the process of uploading it to YouTube now.

If you get a chance it would be great if you could take a look and give me some feedback. It is now up on my site also.

Thanks again for the help and the information.

Thom

Speak soon and all the best

Hi Nigel,

Great post about our last call. Have you done your video for the competition yet? I haven’t come up with a good idea yet … but there’s still time. Have already seen a few good ones!

Debbie

Hey Debbie

Yeah I too have noticed quite a few good videos out there- and yes there is still plenty of time left. I haven’t had time to get mine done yet, but I have been plotting away a few ideas – it’s just I’m busy with two new ebooks coming out soon as well of which, I hope to get at least one of them out by the end of this week.

Nigel
