Marketing Mafia Money and did it live up to my expectations?

by nigelyip on December 10, 2008

Hello All

I hope you are all well, well what can I say I have learnt from Alex’s Module 3 last night? well actually and surprising – not a lot!!! It was certainly different to what I had hoped for.

You see Alex, has had to put back the modules from last week as everyone seemed to be having problems getting their profit pulling platform up and from yesterday’s poll result, 40% of the student hadn’t even set up a blog.

Now I’m not sure whether Alex can still make us money by Christmas as the module schedule has had to be revamped which is very kind of Alex to do so for all the other students who have yet to catch up.

For those who were ready to move on since last week, well we’ve pretty much got an extra week to do something nice and that is making money and thinking and writing our new ebooks, which bring me back to Alex’s lecture last night.

Last night, Alex’s main focus: apart from giving the students a good “Kick up the backside’ as he stated in the webinar, was telling us every possible advantage there was to having a blog. I seriously mean it, Alex was clearly stated that how we should use stories to make out blog interesting i.e. Coleen Cook is a really good example here and how to use what knowledge we gained during this course to write an ebook i.e. Dean Holland.

Alex was also mentioning to us, how we could write an ebook, and for those who are scared of writing, how we could breakdown the fears and barriers of writing. It’s not a daunting task, anyone can write, if you have a story to tell, just jot it down on paper or type it up in a notepad or word document.

Just look at Alex as a clear example. Plus did you know I used to be such a rubbish writer, I couldn’t write to save my life, and I’m probably still am one,

Hey Nigel

Great post, I actually couldn’t get on the call last night because of technical problems, but after coming here it’s seems I didn’t miss as much as I thought.

I was over at Gary’s blog earlier and from what they were saying I thought I had missed tons.

By the way, great videos.

Now I know you are here I have added you to my student blog roll so I will pop back more often.

regards

Rick.

Hey Rick

Thanks for dropping by, I too will add you on my blog roll.
It’s a shame you couldn’t attend the webinar due to technical problems. I think the bit that your might have missed out and I’ve just added to the post was that Alex proposed a $1000 & a $5000 competition. Full details apparently will be released in the next module so make sure you do atttend then. Plus it’s an important module about driving traffic.

I think it also depends on what everyone’s perspective was, the stuff Alex was talking about last night, I had already learnt from other internet marketers so there was nothing new to me, so again, I would say watch the webinar when it is loaded into the members area and make your own judgement.

All the best
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I knew you had a lot on but didn’t realise how much!

Great post mate and I was suprised that 40% of people don’t have a blog yet also. The time we can dedicate to this will vary from person to person, but as you rightly say, it is important that everyone takes action.

Like you, last night was not what I was expecting, not even a mention of the mafia, lol. But I think the bigger picture is becoming clearer for everyone now and this thing is going to run and run.

I’m sure when we all signed up for this we had no idea what it would become. It seems that it is even bigger and gone in a direction that Alex’s wasn’t expecting. I think it just keeps getting better and better.

It’s going to be a wild ride and we will all be reaping the benefits for years to come.

Speak to you later
Mark

Hey Nig!

Thanks for your comment on my blog, I just added u too!! Soo many students to keep up with so basically whenever someone leaves a post on my blog I add them to my blogroll, otherwise, adding 500 people to your blogroll is quite time consuming!! LOL…talk soon!! GREAT ARTICLE BTW!!! love it!!

Great post Nigel!

How about that module 3 lesson yesterday, huh? Alex always “over-delivers” with his students!

I’ve got a bunch of tips and videos on my blog of the things I have learned from Alex too.

Adam

P.S. I may be crazy, but I’m doing a little contest on my blog, and I’m trying to let everyone know about it. Come tell me what you think.

As a fellow student of Alex, I now have you on my blogroll. Please comment on my blog to, as I only got it up yesterday!! :)

Thanks!

Yip-Man,

Hope you don’t mind me calling you that – LOL! It is a compliment seeing as the real Yip-Man is such a respected historical figurehead in the world of Wing-Chun kung fu, practiced by millions throughout the world.

Anyway, Nigel… wow!

I am a writer and have been for many years. I’m a contibutor to many magazines and I have written tons of articles, over a dozen e-books and technical manuals, a 200,000 word crime-thriller novel (still hunting for a publisher), several novels in the waiting behind that one and a bunch of other stuff on top of that far too numerous to mention. I have also been a proof reader and editor.

Having blown my own trumpet there (so you know where I am coming from), let me now say this…

… if I had half the talent you have now when I was 21 I’d be another Nelson deMille or Michael Connelly or John Griaham right now. Your written ability is outstanding for one so young!

Yeah… you have a few technical issues and some ‘spellos’ but that could be a result of just writing too fast PLUS a bunch of info and excitement all combining.

Seriously, Yipster, you are a SERIOUS contender when it comes to lucid prose. You should be mighty proud of your abilty. It is a huge WEAPON – like a Goran Ivanisevic thunderbolt ace! Remember him? Whenever he was under pressure, good old Goran could always pull out his big gun and just go BOOM! … any time he wanted to.

There is NO greater ability on the net than the ability that you are forging and honing. Techie stuff is critical but once it has been done it is over. The writing is NEVER over. Techie stuff can be outsourced. The writing cannot. Words are the fundamental cornerstone to human existence. IMHO there is no greater talent than being able to express yourself clearly and concisely.

Now, Yip-dude, that’s the 2nd time I have heaped praise upon you – don’t let it go to your head – LOL!

Use your obvious talent wisely and you will be a big winner. I know you will.

Hi All

Thanks for all your wonderful comment, I’ve been really busy getting this ebook sorted for you all, anyway let’s cut to the chase:

Hey Mark,
Thanks for dropping by and yeah I definately have a lot of things going on at the same time but yeah, I can’t remember if Alex even said the word Mafia other than in the title – lol, and I’m glad that it’s a wild ride rather than a wild goose chase – hehe and yep definately speak to your later – thanks for the Aweber/Confirmation tip.

Hi Chelsea, how you doing? Glad you like the blog and yeah I agree with you about it would be time consuming to add 500 names to the blog roll. Your strategy definately works, I know this because I adopt the same approach as well and I’m delighted to hear that you like the post. I will pop by your blog whenever I have time and Thanks for adding me to your blog roll.

Right sorry peeps, I’m just going to adopy what Gary does and that is next comment post.

9 Nigel Yip 12.10.08 at 7:41 pm

Hey Adam, Thanks for dropping by, I’m currently half way through your 30 websites and 30 days ebook, gotta to say, I’m throughly enjoying it. I will give you a proper review on your blog when I finish reading it.

Cindy, hello and a warm welcome to Nigel -Land as Gary calls my blog.I will add you to my blog roll after this and I will pop by your blog and leave you a comment very soon. Glad to see you up and running and well done!!!

And finally Gary, WOW!!! I’m blown away by your comments, but yep I definately agree with everything you said about the spelling mistake and few niggly bits here and there- I guess when one is typing fast and although I did read it 3 times before publishing it, mistakes will always occur, hence why proof readers exist – lol.

Thank you for your offer in advance re: few pointer after the course, and if you don’t mind, I’ll definately like to get in touch with you after the course.

All the best everyone, I hope my post will encouraged you and others to take action.

Best Regards
Nigel

Nigel,

Great post!

It is true — That blog will not magically name itself, host itself, ftp itself, nor fill the content for itself!

We have to do that on our own. However, it is not to say people will not help you in those endeavors if you get stuck. We are all part of the same class, and I for one want to see everyone succeed in Alex Jeffreys class.

I am sure others share the same thought as you and I on that.

Anyhow, nice blog and see you in the lectures! ;)

Hi Nigel,

Great post there. “Winners Never Quit, Quitters never Win”. I think we should print out these words and stick it on the wall! What a great motivation that words can give us. :)

I’m looking forward to see your ebook on generating traffic using videos.

Cheers,

Will

Hi Nigel

Just following round all the blogs and getting to know other fellow students bit by bit.

I love the post. It is just so important that we get on and do something, which is why I set up my blog on wordpress until my own website is up and running rather than waiting . I can always transfer it later.

I’ve had the words “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going” on the wall over my computer for nearly a year now and I’m really glad that I’ve finally got this going (I’ve been getting other things going before this though!).

I actually got the words from Mike Litman who is a real motivational coach and I love his sentiments – they fit in well with what Alex teaches – you have to give away first in order to receive. Check him out at: http://www.mikelitman.com/blog/.

Anyway I was so surprised to see Gary mention me in his blog post but I’m more than happy to help anyone with writing in whatever way I can, so please contact me over on my blog: http://www.hilarydickinson.wordpress.com and add me to your blogroll. I’d love to hear from you all.

I’m off to set up my blogroll now!

Hilary

13 Nigel Yip 12.11.08 at 7:35 am

Hey Will,

Thanks for posting mate, yeah I agree we should all print those words out and since we use our computer for pretty much everythinh – we should also make it as a desktop background wallpaper – hehe!!

All the best
Nigel

14 Ruth Stewart 12.11.08 at 11:18 am

Hi Nigel,

I am just messaging everyones blog to say hello – its great now that I can stay in contact with everyone else. It’s than before when I was just trying to put things together by myself.
I guess the moral of module three is that if you get five hundred people together then they are not all going to be at the same level or pace. People with families and work commitments maybe can’t put in the time everyone else can.
Anyway, looking forward to the brainstorming session today,

Best wishes,

Ruth

Hi Nigel,

I have been trying it add this comment to your latest post but it wont let me, so going to try here:

You finished it! Well done mate.

I’m sure it’s much better than you think and I am looking forward to reading it. Nice work on the graphics btw, they look fine.

What software did you use, I have quickcover3d. It’s excellent.

What with brain storming tonight (gonna be a long one!) and everything else it will probably be tomorrow before I read but will give you my review asap.

See you later!

Hello Ruth

Welcome to my blog and thanks for dropping by. I agree with you that with 500 people – not everyone is going to be at the same pace or level. but the you can’t expect that either – everyone is different but that’s what going to make this experience so unique and the fact is come a few years later, we will look back and think to ourselves that it was a good decision and that we were glad to continue the course right through to the end no matter what was thrown at us.

Anyway, all the best and I look forward to heaaring from you again
Nigel

19 nigelyip 04.01.10 at 1:58 pm

Hi Harald

Thank you for your kind comment. In regards to your question, if you install a wordpress plug-in called akismet – this should help to automate and solve your spam message replies problems.

Hope that helps and best regards
Nigel
