Hey Nigel,

Let a reply to your comment on my blog but thought I would pop over and see whats going on in your world!

No sales for me either yet mate, but as I said in my email last week your unique vistor stats are higher than mine so it must only be a matter of time.

I getting some more subscribers but I have a sneaky feeling that some are other students which may explain the high number of ‘unverified’ email address’ I keep getting.

I haven’t had the time to do any split testing and I would be interested to know what you have found, email me the results my man!

Reading your post reminds of the one I wrote a few days ago. Last Friday I felt totally exhausted and suffering the dreaded information overload. So I did what you are going to do.

I shut of the pc, walked away, went out and didn’t come back to it for 24 hours and felt a much better for it. So go for that drive and take some time out. Plus, you have a lot on at the moment helping out in the shop.

I thought mod 4 was tonight also until I checked. I guess Alex is still recovering from Ireland!:)

I have pretty much given up with the email/support desk merry-go-round. I do understand it must be a complete nightmare his end, 500 people all trying to get hold of him but yes, it is frustrating.

So have that drive and a few beers if you can. Obviously not at the same time!

Will catch up with you by email later
Speak to you soon!

Hi Nigel,

I hope you might be able to help me with a problem I have ?
Yesterday I upgraded my WP platform to 2.7, big mistake ! I am having all sorts of problems adding graphics and video to my posts. When you want to add a graphic or video now, you are taken to another page to upload the vid or graphic from wherever you have it hosted. The problem is though when you click upload all that happens is the page stalls !!!!!

I don

Hi Nigel,

Thanks very much for your help with my video problem, unfortunately wp 2.7 is a heap of, no I won

4 Paull Hamilton 12.16.08 at 3:21 pm

Hi Nigel,

I thought it would be a nightmare backtracking from the current version of WP. I wish to goodness I had not upgraded now, one of the other problems I

Nigel,

YEAHHHHHHH ! I think the threat of the big hammer worked. After the last message I sent you I went back to give it one last chance before the Thor hammer came out, and low and behold it

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your above comment and also your email – great stuff especially that you know what I mean – that hilarious word and cracking ideas of yours. Will email you later when google lets me compose messages – think google wants a bit of fun tonight by playing a “sorry you can’t compose and send any more messages” game with me.

All the best

Hi Nigel,

What I did was grab the html code from Animoto and paste it in to the html view window, the strange thing is though you could not see the video just previewing the post I had to publish it before it was visible ??
I haven

Hi Nigel,

I too was a little disappointed when I realized I had forgot the next coaching session was postponed, I just get so excited about each session that I cant wait for it to start.

Don’t despair. Your post sounds like your a little down about the program. Don’t worry because we haven’t gotten into the best of it yet, everything Alex is telling us too do is to set up our foundation

This is the part where most people quit because it seems too hard or impossible.

Just stick with it and expand your foundation, success will come.

Re-read your post “EOW Progress Report & Why a guy tried to Humiliate Me in front of Public!!!” and feel the passion you had. I read that post and thought “WOW this guy is really living this!”

Aim to keep yourself in that mindset. I hope your country drive helped with this : )

Cheers,
Ryan

Hey Thomas

How you doing? Thanks for dropping by, I have added you to my blog roll and I will certainly drop by your new social site.

Hi Jean, thanks for your comments and best videos , glad you liked the video too.

And Ryan, Thanks for your supportive advice, the drive certainly did help and I feel a lot fresher now, not doing much productive today as I’m having a semi-day off.

Finally, thanks to you all for dropping by my blog, and wonderful comments as well. I have added you all to my blog roll and I wish you all the best of success too.

Hi Nigel.

Thank you for visiting my Blog. I have added you to my Roll.

I haven’t had time to study what you have been up to as I started late on the course and have had to do a fair bit of catching up to do.

I will keep popping back to say hello!

Hiya Nigel!
Don’t get discouraged; there’s always frustrations but you need to keep your spirits up. Like they say, “You can’t afford the luxury of a negative thought! Check out the articles at Gary’s main site ( http://motivationselfesteem.com )… Thanks for visiting my site. I’m having problems myself, and everything seems much more difficult than it should be – but it’s all a part of learning, and we’re not supposed to be in a comfort zone, are we?
Don’t give up,

16 Stephen Bray 12.17.08 at 1:18 pm

Nigel,

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. I also think Alex is going as fast as possible. Some of us are already getting left behind, and all kinds of other weird things are happening. For example forums seem to be popping up all over the place, and if we spend all our times there I doubt any of us will have much time to make money on-line?

You’re dong really well to be receiving over 1000 unique visitors. Some will be robot spiders but many are real people made of flesh and blood.

As for making money by Christmas, I think maybe Alex was being a little ambitious on our behalf. The Internet Marketing niche is extremely competitive, (if highly profitable for those who know how to do things properly). He’s not been well since he started coaching us, has he? And the systems have taken a while to get broken in what with the new help-desk, new support personnel etc.

The fact remains, however, this is the very best time to be coached by Alex because he’ll never offer this level of support at this price. So to my mind even if we make no money until we’ve gone through the entire process I still think this Course is money well spent.

Go well Nigel,

Stephen

Hey Nigel,
I have to admit I have had many of the same feelings, but I am nowhere near the level you are. It seems to me that we were told to set a course, stay the course, meet the deadlines and move forward. Then I do have to understand some setbacks are unavoidable.
I for one am really trying not to quit because I have quit too early too many times. So even tho for me this was a boat load of an expense…I need to see it through and make it work. I hope to see you in Vegas…

18 Doug Stewart 12.17.08 at 6:19 pm

Hi Nigel

Like you I’m getting hits on my site but no sales. I’m putting it down to the keywords people are using and then getting a whole selection of Alex’s students coming up in the search results.

Everything always sounds easier than it really is. I suppose in some respects I was expecting to get more hits than I am especially as I’m on page one of Google with a certain key phrase and upto page four with other keywords.

I reckon the point is to keep plugging away and use your knowledge to help other people without expecting too much of a return to start with. Word will soon get around that you’re the person in the know about vids.

Negative thoughts are bound to creep in especially if you hear and see other people doing the same thing as you are but getting better results but you have to look at this long term and as a bigger picture.

I hope it goes well for you

Best wishes
Doug

Dang it, wrote this medium length comment acknowleging your feelings. I share the same. And because I put my email address in wrong it was bounced into never never land…So moral of the story…stuff happens to get in the way sometimes.
Lets make a pact to meet in Vegas…

Hi everyone – firstly thanks for dropping by my blog – I hope you are all well.

Hey Brian
Thanks for adding me to your blog roll and I hope you are catching up fast – all the best mate.

Hiya James, thanks for your supportive message – I will certainly continue the course but I guess sometime when fustration sets in – along with other things which unexpected occur outside the course – then one can sometimes feel depressed. Will certainly check out Gary’s page.

Hey Stephen
Thanks to you as well for your support – I agree that we are very lucky for Alex to help us out so much and for such a low price too. Plus that he may have been a bit ambitious, but I guess it is money well spent but it would be nice if a little went our way too as well. Thanks again

Hey Scott,
Thank you as well, 2 messages, and yeah I couldn;t agree with you more about unexpected setbacks, it just that it now doesn’t fit into my planning and it means my plans now has to be chucked out of the window and restarted again. Yeah I hope to see you and the rest of the others in Vegas too.

And finally, but not least Doug. How you doing? Interesting… will look into what your suggesting about keywords and yeah I will defo take you advice about looking at the long picture.

To conclude, thank you to you all for leaving such great and supportive messages – see you all later at the webinar and I wish everyone of you the best of success as well

All the best
Nigel

21 Ken Douglas 12.18.08 at 12:34 am

Nigel,

First let me say the videos you have done for the newsletter were fantastic and I can hardly wait until i can make time this weekend to begin learning how to make videos work for me.

So far as the level of frustration is concerned, I feel that the fact you are concerned shows your drive. I think that we are headed in the right direction with the mentoring program. I believe that Alex has found that to not run the risk of leaving a lot of people behind he has had to slow down from his original schedule. I for one have found that the slightly slower speed has been a bit more compatible for my time restraints. While I would like to devote more time to the online activity i must still commit time to my present employment obligations and family commitments.

As far as the number of hits your page has had without sales, I think that this can be contributed to the fact that we all are geting a high nimber of hits from the mentoring students. You are getting a very high number because we all want to see what you are doing with the video aspect of things. Once we cover the traffic driving material I feel we will be equipped to bring outside traffic to our sites and then begin to see our sales numbers begin to move. Perhaps I am just optimistic but I truly believe we just need to show a bit more patience.

22 Gary Simpson 12.18.08 at 2:39 am

Patience Dear Nigel… patience my friend.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. And neither will this be. This set-up time is where all the folks who expect QUICK riches will fall by the wayside. I don’t want you to be in that group.

Anyway, my impatient friend, I just thought I

23 Nigel Yip 12.18.08 at 6:52 am

Hi Ken

Thank you for leaving such a wonderful and supportive message and I hope you have fun making some videos too. Garry (Parkes) has been telling me the newsletter videos are now embed over 450+ webspace/websites – to me that really really impressive and a very unexpected results – but then Garry does deserve all the success and more.

Anyway, Ken, I totally understand about the time constraints and other commitments we all have – I have written a post about a week ago called Marketing Mafia Money and did it live up to my expectations which discusses this issue so you may wish to read it, if you have some spare time – the link is below (copy and paste)

http://nigelyip.xtreemhost.com/marketing-mafia-money-and-did-it-live-up-to-my-expectations/

I totally agree patience is necessary and that the I should really be following the saying “Patience is Virtue” it’s just been a really depressing week so far due to commitments outside the Alex’s Coaching Course ring.

Anyway, I’m looking forward tonight but before that I’ve got a shed load of work to get through – so see you at the webinar.

All the best and thanks again
Nigel

24 Garry 12.18.08 at 8:00 am

Hi Nigel,

Hey mate don’t undersell yourself giving me all the credit for those videos. You deserve the credit – they were awesome, far better than my tutorial video on “How to make a Video from scratch”. A BIG THANKYOU for your fantastic work in getting the newsletter promoted.

And stick with things, like a few of the posts above have said we really haven’t started too much with the real traffic generation technqiues yet and when we do it will gives us all a massive boost. Look at what is possible with just videos. You are in an ideal position to leverage the power of them and I’m sure soon you will be reaping the benefits. In the end we are never going to get an opportunity to be mentored by someone by Alex at the ground-level.

Sent you a message on Viddler that you will find interesting. Unbelievable isn’t it???? I’ll tell everyone else about those stats later ;-) Just shows what can happen if you just use those techniques detailed in the newsletter to start with. And that’s before Alex even gets started !!!

Roll on tonight

Garry
http://garryparkes.com/

25 Jerry 12.18.08 at 8:47 am

Hi Nigel

Google analytics and statpress plug in should help you determine where your traffic is coming from or statcounter.com for your squeeze -
I’ve been through this frustration before and still do on some projects – so completely understand – but a focused and concentrated blitz on:

press releases, articles, videos, USfeeads, forums, remote content pointing to your PPP and all those types of strategies using your targetted keywords to show up on the SE’s

so any links in remote content leading to your money page should have keyword phrase in the anchor text.

This will certainly get more ‘targetted traffic’ (Im sure Alex will cover all this stuff) :-)

Sorry you probably already know this stuff

catch up soon

Jerry

26 Nigel Yip 12.18.08 at 9:39 am

Hey All

Thanks again for leaving so many wonderful and supportive messages

Now Gary, how did your message sneak in before my reply to the other fellow students? I’m sure I didn’t see it when I was posting a reply. Anyway, yes Patience is Virtue, should be really blogging at the moment but the printers are currently on auto-pilot i.e. and yes I have left you a comment about Garry’s Newsletter on your blog post.

Aah Garry, the guy with the extra ‘r’ in it. How you doing? I knew were powerful but I didn’t know HOW powerful they were and you’ve clearly shed some new light on video marketing. Will check out Viddler later, currently it won’t let me log in and I just had to reset my computer after the dreaded blue screen. Have hostgator sorted your problems yet?

And Jerry,

Thank you for your great advice on the various types on internet marketing methods- I’ve been looking at google analytics on daily basis, but my pie chart keeps saying that search engines are 3%, direct link 2% and referall 95% but then the referall is from my domain name forwarding, i.e. http://www.nigelyip.com – so I’m still quite clueless.
I appreciate all advice whether I know it or not as sometimes, I may forget things.

To conclude, thanks again everyone for your wonderful and supportive comments, ALL THE BEST TO YOU ALL and see you all at the webinar tonight.

Nigel

27 Susan Owen-Thursfield 12.18.08 at 2:14 pm

Hi Nigel -
First time at your blog and just came over here because I wanted the ebook – I am scared so far out of my comfort zone that I’m paralysed about making videos – it’s only been a few months since I learnt how to upload stuff to my new webhost!

First off – I didn’t manage to download the ebook. My server refreshed and when I reentered my email address, it just said that I had subscribed but not confirmed – yet there’s nothing in my email… Any ideas?

Secondly, please could you add me on your blogroll – Susan Owen-Thursfield (it has a “d” at the end which is missed off a few blogs I’ve visited). I have already added your to my blogroll page.

Thirdly – you are doing AMAZING things. I’m sorry that you were frustrated last week – I can totally understand it but as a mother of twin 3 3/4 year olds with a husband, two dogs, a twinsclub Christmas party to organise, Christmas to plan, cards, decorations, presents, wrapping up, housework AND internet marketing – to be honest I just felt relieved for the extra time. You’re one of Alex’s advanced students I’m sure and thanks for being vocal and helping others. I’m sure we’ll all get there in the end.

Best wishes

Susan Owen-Thursfield

Hi Susan

Thank you for dropping by my blog – and hey Susan, don’t worry about making videos, it’s really really easy, once you learn how, you roll them out without even thinking. I’ll certainly investigate why it happen, technically, once you confirm the email – it should take you a download page where you will be able to download the ebooks – it’s been working fine for the past week and I guess I must have messed something up this morning when I was adding the video and multimedia page. Thanks for letting me know.

I totally understand you about not having enough time, if you check ouy my blog post

http://nigelyip.xtreemhost.com/marketing-mafia-money-and-did-it-live-up-to-my-expectations/

You will see what I mean, plus I been told it’s one of my best blog post to date

All the best and I’ll add you to my blog roll once I’ve done the comment replies.

Hi Joe

Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment. In regards to your question, I actually started blogging about a week before Alex’s Course. It’s was just pur coincidence really. I was making a blog for my ebay side of business to help provide support for a few online friends who got stuck on ebay and I thought a blog would be useful in providing helpful tips to them as well as new buisness ideas. see.. http://www.nigelyip.wordpress.com and I was recommended by a internet marketer friend that Alex’s course was on, so I signed up for it and well I guess the rest is history as they say in stories lol.

Sure you can use a screenshot for my site providing it for legit purposes of course….which you are doing… looking forward to seeing the video

All the best to you too!!!
Nigel..

Hey Nigel

Lots of good stuff here keep up the good work. Also if you have Twitter can you add me as one of your followers. And if you can please add me to you student blog roll that would be great.

Talk to you soon John.

34 Bernard Giles 12.26.08 at 8:01 am

Hey Nigel,

been a few days since you posted this and you’ve sure had plenty of great responses so far. I’d heard about you from various of the other blogs and the PPP so I’m here to find out about the videos.

Sounds like you are the man and I’m glad to be here! :-)

Know exactly how you feel with the pace of the coaching, monetising the blog and a whole bunch of what the other guys are saying in their comments.

Gazza (single “r”) is bang on though when he says patience! It’s not a virtue I have in bucket loads either but having started and dropped out of enough programs already, Alex’s has a completely different feel to it. His passion is infectious and I’m 1000% confident that diligence in putting into practice what he’s teaching us and allowing time for it to take effect will see all of us who stay the course making our livings’ off the internet.

I want to be out of my day job every yesterday, but if it takes me 3 months, 6 months or a year to get there I’ll stick at it coz I know the next 30 yrs I’m doin what I want and what I believe in.

I know you will too – you’re going to star in our Fortunate 500! It oozes through your passion and with all the support you’re getting even in this single post, there’s no way these guys are going to let you drop through the cracks!

I haven’t read your other posts yet but I’ll work my way through em in the coming days. Was doing my task list today….up to 35 Alex related jobs I need to do already not counting reading all our blog posts. Time is precious….

Appreciate if you can add me to your blogroll and please pop over to my site and take a look. I’ve a Fortunate 500 page like many others – you’re already on it, but I want to add a few sentences about everyone to find out what areas people are aiming at and what things you’re “the man” for…video comes to mind! :-)

Look forward to making another friend real soon,

Cheers,
Bernard

Hey Nigel

3rd time lucky maybe…the last comment was a test after submitting a lengthy comment that I’m unlikely to be able to recreate in quite the same way!

But that test comment got bounced for no name & no email…they were there when I submitted so don’t know what’s happening. Maybe I’m just not destined to connect with you dude!!

Right time to hit the button again….

36 Nigel Yip 12.26.08 at 9:00 pm

Hey Bernard

Firstly before anything else I hope you had a wonderful christmas day!!!! It’s been soooo busy over here but still anyway, I totally agree with you and Gary about patience is virtue and so I will wait, but in the meantime, I’m brewing a few cups of teas and coffees (ebooks and websites) ready for when we finish the course. I will definately check out your blog and the fortunate 500 site.

The only thing I will say is that traffic is definately a hard issue to talk about but tomoz, I will certainly give it a good crack at it.

Anyway all the best
Nigel

PS: Going to check your blog out and add you to my blog roll!!!

37 Nigel Yip 12.26.08 at 9:01 pm

Hye Bernard?

3rd time lucky? Sorry bit confused here?

Best Regards
Nigel

38 Bernard Giles 12.28.08 at 2:34 am

Hey again Nigel,

when I submitted the orignal comment it just disappeared and I thought maybe it’d been lost. Now it looks like it was being held pending your moderation, but I couldn’t see anything that advised that. Don’t know how it works, but on some of the others blogs, there are various ways of advising the comment was submitted and pending review. So I was confused….tried a 2nd time and got a kickback saying didn’t have name etc. Clearly that one didn’t get submitted, and then the 3rd time lucky was my 3rd attempt and again that just disappeared when submitted and I had no clue whether it’d got to you or just disappeared into the ether…

Now I know…

See you over my way soon! :-)

Cheers,
Bernard

ps. Xmas was great considering I was at work in Kazakhstan. But we started, late, left early and had a superb night out in a local restaurant…a little unconventional but load of fun! Hope you had a good one too. Looks like it went pretty good apart from the cranberry!

39 Robin Pike 12.29.08 at 12:41 am

Hi Nigel… you have certainly gotten a nice set of responses to your post. I was very happy to read all the nice things people said in response to your feelings thusfar in the program.

I too felt the same way you did… not only with the 18th session being postponed but the fact that Mod 3 was postponed for almost 2 weeks. I was very excited that we were about to approach the marketing side of things and I was so very ready to learn how to drive traffic each of the three times it was “postponed”.

I also feel that it has been difficult to stay motivated when things aren’t happening the way Alex said they would, i.e. we’d be making money by Christmas, however, the money we paid for this mentoring we are receiving will be a drop in the bucket in the end… I am very hopeful of that! Five Hundred Dollars is an extreme amount of money to my family with only my husband working — I actually went to God looking for an answer as to whether I should spend that money for this — and He gave me a sign that in fact this is what I NEED to do. So, with Gods’ blessing I signed up and I know it will all work out. :-)

The moral of what I am trying to say is, yes, there have been disappointments (I haven’t made any money yet either) but I know that everything is going to turn out great!!! Keep the faith and believe in what you are doing and all of us that do what we are told will come out smiling!!!

Take care and good luck to you!!

Robin :-)

40 Nigel Yip 12.29.08 at 7:07 am

Hey Robin,

Thank you for your supportive comments and yes I totally agree that sometime it can be very fustrating when things don’t go according to plan, but then on another thought, isn’t that part of the surprise element in life as we can’t always predict or assume everything will go to plan. Sometime, somewhere, things have to catch up and in the coaching course case, Alex didn’t want to leave anyone behind either hence the delay.

I’m sure like you said, looking back when the course finishes, the $500 we spent on the course will look nothing and yes I also agree that we need to keep the faith and believe that we will succeed.

All the best and good luck to you too
Nigel
